Stay Without a Retreat: Istmo Airbnb

While we don’t offer restaurant service, breakfast, or a bar, most (but not all) of our bungalows come with a fully equipped kitchen—perfect for preparing your own meals. If you're staying multiple nights or arriving without a car, we highly recommend booking a bungalow with a kitchen.

Nearby dining and grocery options:

• Las Uvas (5 mins): Gas station store, local supermarket, casual eats
• Pizzería ArteSana (10 mins): Vegan + gluten-free friendly
• Camisones (8 mins): Upscale dining toward Santa Clara
• Coronado (18 mins): Large grocery stores + restaurants

All are available on Google Maps. Reach out anytime for personalized food recommendations!

From Panama City:

• Take a bus from Albrook Terminal to Antón or Penonomé
• Ask to get off at the Las Uvas stop

From Las Uvas:

• Grab a taxi to Istmo (3–5 minutes, under $5)

• Stop at the local store for groceries if needed

We’ll send you our exact location via WhatsApp the morning of your arrival.

Getting around without a car:

• Relax on property or visit Playa Grande (5–7 min walk)
• We can connect you with reliable, Spanish-speaking taxi drivers
• Catch public buses from the Interamericana Highway (20 min walk)

We recommend stocking up on supplies, especially if you don’t have a car.

For bungalows with kitchens:

• A small BBQ grill is included
• Charcoal and lighter fluid are not provided
• Use grills responsibly and only in designated safe areas

For bungalows without kitchens:

• BBQs are not provided
• You may bring your own small grill—just follow fire safety rules

Please do not use indoor sinks to clean BBQ tools—use the outdoor foot shower instead.

Luxury linens and towels:

• White towels for indoor use
• Striped towels for beach use

Bath essentials:

• Hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner

Cleaning supplies:

• Basic supplies included in every unit

Housekeeping available: $20 per service—please request 24 hours in advance

For units with kitchens:

• Starter supplies: oil, salt, pepper, coffee, tea, and sugar

For units without kitchens:

• Mini-fridge and coffee maker with starter tea, coffee, and sugar

Check-in: After 3:00 PM
Early check-in is available from 10:00 AM, based on availability. Fee: $10/hour.

Check-out: Before 12:00 PM
Feel free to leave your car in our parking area and visit the beach post-checkout. An outdoor shower is available to rinse off before departure.

Note: Parking is only available for current overnight guests.

• Visiting the Playa Grande beach
• Exploring waterfalls and markets nearby
• Discovering restaurants and local gems in Coronado or El Valle

We’re dog-friendly! We do not accept cats. Other pets may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

• Pet fee: $10 + 10% tax per dog, per night

• Please inform us before arrival so we can safely pen up our dogs
• Dogs must be leashed, stay off furniture, and you must clean up after them

Tap water is safe for brushing teeth, but not recommended for drinking

Filtered drinking water is available:

• In units with kitchens: Use the labeled filtered faucet
• In units without kitchens: We provide a starting supply in the fridge

We recommend purchasing bottled water for your stay.

• All fees (including pets) must be paid in advance—we do not accept cash

• We do not offer refunds for issues beyond our control, including: Weather, power outages, flight changes, road conditions, or emergencies.

In the rare event that the property becomes inoperable or unavailable without notice, we reserve the right to provide comparable accommodations. If comparable accommodations are not available, guests may choose from the following options:

• An alternative unit at its listed rate
• A full refund

By booking and staying at Istmo Retreat & Adventures, all guests expressly agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless Istmo Retreat & Adventures, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, injuries, or expenses (including legal fees) arising out of or in connection with their stay, including but not limited to: accidents, illnesses, personal injuries, theft, loss of property, natural disasters, adverse weather conditions, power outages, equipment malfunctions, or any other unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.

While we make every reasonable effort to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment, guests accept full responsibility for their own safety and belongings during their stay.

Occasional outages happen in Panama and are outside our control. No compensation is offered for outages.
